West Deptford Freshman Team Still Undefeated

The Eagles improved to 3-0 in Tri-County Midget Football League with win over Delsea on Saturday. The sophomore and junior teams also came away with victories.

West Deptford freshman football continued its unbeaten run in the Tri-County Midget Football League on Saturday, as they defeated Delsea on the road, 33-7, to improve to 3-0 on the year.

Lawrence Howard was the main catalyst for the Eagles' scoring, running for 183 yards and four touchdowns on the day. Three of Howard's four scores were from 50 or more yards out. David Davis scored the fifth touchdown for West Deptford.

The Eagles defense held stout as usual, as they forced two turnovers of the Delsea offense in holding them to seven points. Jordyn Roane and Damian Waiters both recovered fumbles in the game for West Deptford.

In the other divisions, sophomores squad won its second straight game, shutting out Delsea 13-0. The junior team has also won two straight after winning big, 41-19. Meanwhile, the senior team fell to 1-2 after a tough loss to Delsea, 13-7.

All four teams will be back in action on Saturday, when they visit Woodstown. It will be an especially huge matchup for the Eagles' undefeated freshman team, as Woodstown's freshmen are also unbeaten at 3-0.
