West Deptford No. 1 Reaches District 15 9-10 Baseball Finals

It’s down to the final two teams in the District 15 9- and 10-year-old baseball tournament, and West Deptford No. 1 will get their shot at the title Tuesday night.

The boys built a 7-1 lead on East Greenwich No. 1 Monday night in the semifinals and hung on down the stretch for the 7-4 win.

“Our kids played their hearts out,” head coach Tony Scirrotto said.

East Greenwich No. 1, which was undefeated heading into the semifinals, had only allowed 10 runs in its previous five games.

The win puts West Deptford No. 1 into the championship against Glassboro, slated for a 6 p.m. start at East Greenwich’s Hidden Acres Park. Glassboro got there with a 6-4 win over Deptford Monday night.
