Forum for the Disabled, Black Cat Ball: Week Ahead in West Deptford

On Tuesday, October 15, the West Deptford Board of Education will have its monthly meeting in the West Deptford Middle School library. Click here for a preview of the agenda for the evening.

On Wednesday, October 16, the West Deptford Committee on the Disabled will host a comprehensive information forum for people with special needs. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., providers of services for the disabled will present at the RiverWinds Community Center. Attendees can enter a drawing for a free one-year RiverWinds membership.

The Delaware River Port Authority will also hold its regular monthly meeting at the RiverWinds that same evening. Click here to preview the agenda.

On Thursday, October 17, the West Deptford township committee will hold its regular semi-monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in the township municipal building.

Then, for those looking to pump up their Halloween decorations, stop by the RiverWinds Community Center at 6:30 p.m. and learn how to make a duct tape bat craft. Children aged 6 and older are invited to participate. ($12 Members, $15 Non-Member Residents).

Friday, October 18, is parents night out at the RiverWinds: reserve a spot for your kids (aged 3 to 11) by Wednesday, and they can have a game, activity and movie night while you enjoy an evening out, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. $16 for the first child, $6 each additional sibling. 

On Saturday, October 19, visit Nicolosi Catering on Hessian Avenue in West Deptford from 7 to 11 p.m. for the Furrever Friends Black Cat Ball, a Halloween-themed fundraiser for the Deptford-based animal shelter. Tickets are $35 apiece, and include beer and wine from 7 to 9 p.m. (cash bar afterwards). Costumes are optional, but there are prizes for the best ones.
