Lots of Kids' Activities in the Week Ahead

Is your little one looking for something to do? We've got a few suggestions.

For those of you still in search of something fun to occupy your children until school starts up again, the West Deptford Public Library has a couple of great activities bookending this week.

First up, at 11 a.m. on Monday is a visit from storyteller Mr. Malcolm, whose updated versions of classic fairy tales engage audience members of all ages.

Then at 11 a.m. Friday, Dinoman and his trusty raccoon, Reflex, return audiences to the Mesozoic Era in a "high-energy, hands-on show" featuring "magic, mayhem, [and] magnificent props."

Call the Library at 856-845-5593 to register for either event.

Wednesday at the RiverWinds brings with it duck races at 6 p.m. Don't have a duck? No problem, they'll provide you with one. Fastest sea creature wins, and the event is free to RiverWinds pass holders.

If you've been following the (seemingly) neverending saga of the township's 2013 budgeting process, there's a Thursday meeting of the West Deptford committee at 7 p.m. in the township municipal building. The agenda has not yet been posted, but you can find it here when it goes live.

Finally, you can support your local fire departments from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, when the Verga Fire Company holds a hoagie sale. Delicious and neighborly!
