UPDATED: Week in West Deptford: Tree Lighting, Committee Meeting

Top events in the township this week also include the annual high school powder puff football game, the countywide mayors' prayer breakfast, and a holiday concert.

On Thursday, December 5, Auletto's Catering of Deptford will host the Mayors' Prayer Breakfast in support of the Gloucester County YMCA and county Mayors Association. At 7 a.m., the local leaders will gather together to celebrate the season in spiritual unity, as they have for more than 20 years. Tickets are $20.

At 6:15 stop by for the ribbon-cutting on the new Children's Computer Center at the West Deptford Free Public Librarywhich recently got a facelift courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

The Lights of Love Community Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting Ceremony and Reading of the Memorial Poster will follow at 6:30 p.m., during which the Gloucester County children’s choir will perform songs of the season.

Give $3, $5, or $15 for one, two, or a string of lights, respectively. Acknowledgment cards are also available. 

Thursday is also the biweekly meeting of the West Deptford Township Committee, which gathers at 7 p.m. at the township municipal building.

On Friday, December 6, join the Gateway Madrigal Singers for an evening of holiday carols and history at the Colonial Manor United Methodist Church. This event is free and open to the public, and will include light refreshments afterwards.
