When my sister-in-law from southern Illinois brought her boyfriend in to meet us, we took them to Riverwinds. It was a great choice. The entire site is
gorgeous. The service was excellent. And, the food was terrific. It was an
impressive place to take out of town guests. I think the $ rating above might be too low.
5 of us celebrated our 40th anniversary tonight there. We started with happy hourin the bar. drinks great. Appetizers were fair to okay. We moved to dining room. Service was snail slow. wedge salad loaded with dressing and unedible. seafood in phylo was okay but so dry. petit filet was okay. veal parm good. Caprise salad excellent. Desserts make off site. ours just okay. The guys should have gotten ice cream but not offered. No cake to celebrate our anniversary was offered. NEVER WILL WE GO BACK THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter is a chef and she did not like it
I love the first-rate food and the comfortable atmosphere. When the River Winds restaurant first opened, the service was slow, and the place could get really loud. We like the Sun-Thursday night specials and the weeknight toned down music. It's one of the lovliest places for that special dining experience.
This restaurt is amazing! This is a 5star award deserving restaurnt. The chef does creative delectable creations for down to earth taste buds. I have meat and potato appetite, but the scrumptious specials the chef offered were mouth watering, eat every crumb off the plate delight. Went there for Thankgiving and family was a little upset we weren't doing a family thing. But the meal was so great at RiverWinds they were happy I chose to eat out.
