Allow me to bring something up that has not been mentioned yet. There is all this talk about drunkRead More driving (which is horrible), but I think some people miss the point as a whole. Contrary to a lot of commenters on here, not everyone who is in a bar getting drunk is driving. What about all those people who have designated drivers? Along with the people who don't even get out of work until 10pm? Why should they have limited choices?
Brian N July 25, 2014 at 06:23 am
And we should all be allowed to bring our guns to those bars, because God forbid, limited choices,Read More right!?
DD July 25, 2014 at 10:22 am
Coffeenut, those points have been raised ad nauseam on this thread. However, people don't read. TheyRead More just opine.

Phil Players and Losers get comped, plan and simple. The Poconos Tanked The, Catskills Tanked,Read More Mystic Conn. Tanked Smithville Tanked, Miami Tanked all once popular resorts and destinations , Atlantic City Like Asbury Park never rose from the Tank and are now Drowning, The Jersey Shore is Honkie Tonk for the Most Part ( A hidden Gem of affordability for a Day Trip with A Giant Water Slide Reasonably priced rides mostly for the Kids Ice Cold Beer and Hamburgers Rebuilt since Sandy is Keansburg A replenished super wide Beach with the whitest sand. BUT The problem is its The Raritan Bay shore ( WATER ) Economy and times Change, I have been to all of them and would Never Return.
Phil Brooks July 21, 2014 at 04:44 pm
William, Yes, but I can get comped and go to AC and comped and go to the Bahamas. Do I have toRead More think twice about where I'm going? Also, and not that I'm in a hurry to go to either place, the Poconos got gambling and it helped them. The Catskills didn't and they're dead. Miami Beach re-gentrified and it's a fine place to go after many dark years, so I'm not sure what you're referring to there. Mystic? Not sure what you're talking about, but it still looks like a decent seaport and aquarium, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. I don't know anything about Smithville and can't comment. Some places, like Hoboken, like Miami, like midtown Manhattan (it was pretty nasty there back in the '70s) knew they had to do something and re-invent themselves. Other places, like Newark, have been rotting since the 1967 riots and seem to be waiting for someone else to deliver a truckload of fairy dust because they can't seem to be able to get off their asses there. For some reason, AC figured that the novelty of casino gambling on the east coast would carry them along for many years. But they had to re-invent themselves, too, as in cleaning up the city, and never did it. And look where they are. It sure as heck isn't a gambling destination like Vegas or the Caribbean; it's a day trip, at best. So, between the honky tonk, as you say, that's a big part of the Jersey shore (and we can't forget about the hole that is Asbury Park) and Atlantic City tanking, I'm convinced this state has been run by idiots for many years.
William July 21, 2014 at 09:35 pm
Phil Brooks lets just say I agree with you and leave it like that. I worked to hard for my Money andRead More have other forms of entertainment, in Retirement, AC is not on my Bucket List, I like better odds then That. Good Luck

What is the "fair share " Martin ? Taxes keep going up and up because of entitlements.Read More Public sector pensions and medical cost all get paid by the taxpayers. From properties, buisness you name it. Private sector industry got off paying pensions long ago but are told they have to pay for the public pensions out of their taxes .That's not fair to anyone who's trying to survive in this state. Why should one sector of people get such a nice retirement at the expense others ? Also, you have private unions (a buisness themselves) coming in telling this company what's fair and what they should pay their employees and then the tax man coming in and saying we need our stuff paid because the public unions make their demands and now you see the end result. See you later . People better wise up. The civil service shakedown is going to bury this state. Over a Billion dollars a year just to fund pensions.
Al Beronio July 20, 2014 at 09:57 am

The above mentioned "boss" is only a name... He is nothing but a face on the product...Read More Most of the baking is now done in Jersey City in his spanking new bakery... His product is garbage. He has had more than his share of 15 minutes of fame. I wish people would stop crowding the streets of Hoboken to get in to "his" shop.

Seems people want the practice of deed restrictions to stop because rumor has it they want toRead More restrict the property to a non-casino if they sell it. People say it affects the property values and the City tax revenue in the future so it should not be allowed. Doesn't Ocean city have similar deed restrictions for alcohol sales? Maybe these proposed laws will end that?

This whole thing is absurd. Change the hours? What was requirement when she was hired? Now she wantsRead More to have a company change it's hours to accommodate her after she interviewed and worked for them knowing full well where they were located and the hours. This person should be charged with a frivolous lawsuit and fined or imprisoned for such stupidity. She should be smart enough to be thankful she has a job these days. How about waking up earlier and beating the traffic? Then staying a little later and waiting until it subsides? Another person looking for a hand out. Sadly the bank's lawyer or insurance company will advise them to settle and pay her off to go away.

Do not buy from breeders!! Most are puppy mills. Many are in PA. They over breed for income. AnimalsRead More are abused, not given medical attention and will die there when they can no longer produce litters. How can you advertise for them? ADOPT FROM AN ANIMAL SHELTER !!!!!!! Rescuers raid mills all the time and they end up in shelters.
Sarah May 19, 2014 at 09:47 am
2 million animals die in shelters every year. 2 MILLION. Breeding should be completely banned in myRead More opinion. PLEASE ADOPT, DON'T SHOP. You can find pretty much any pure breed you want in a shelter.
