Is this list correct? Three graduates from yesterday are not listed, yet 3 graduates who are listed,Read More graduated 2 years ago
Lynn Melson May 21, 2013 at 12:32 am
You also missed Brian A. Melson, West Deptford with Mechanical Engineering degree.
Walter Frockmorton May 3, 2013 at 10:36 am
You are correct GF Parent. The previous committee has way too much blame on its plate to be takingRead More the hit for a crappy locker room.
thomas May 5, 2013 at 09:16 pm
I agree. The so called gifted boys as you call them, don't even use the current facility. IRead More observed these conditions when I was involved in youth Sports. High School football players use to come after their practice and assist the youth football program in their equipment. They didn't take a shower after their practice I was told because the current locker rooms were deplorable. To me this should have been addressed many years ago by the School Board and or Janitor Supervisor. Apparently someone was doing their job. What makes anyone think that if they build this new facility that they would go outside of the main school to maintain this building. Put aside the differences and let the donors continually fund the facility including all annual maintenance cost. Another solution would be to upgrade the current locker room facilities at the school so all can enjoy. If the current locker/shower room is under utilized now, and not maintained, why build another? Has anyone considered this may mean hiring more maintenance men? Another cost to consider. $4000.00 isn't even the tip of the iceberg.

I love how uneducated people make comments on things, that they have no idea about... If you don'tRead More like WD, then leave... There are other towns with higher taxes, less education, less services and a lot less input by the public... Do a little research... This building would cost less in electric and water to the town, then was used at the meeting... They are switching, usages... It would also give way for renovating the old locker rooms... You people wouldn't know a gift from a bill... Ignorance is bliss... If the football program leads the way, it will effect the band, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls track and the whole student body... But, people can't see past (football)... Smart people make smart decisions... A new building for basically no cost... Yes, no cost... Is benefical to everyone, except the people who like to complain about everything... I love West Deptford and I want what is best for everyone and this is a great start... With a gift... Think people... Yes, that means you...

How much are we paying Kristen Oneil and her support staff? I believe that pay should be adjusted toRead More fit the standings of the WD School system and we as taxpayers should demand a refund for poor performance.
WDNeedsHelp May 30, 2013 at 06:52 pm
PS at last count we spent about $14,500 per student per year in the School Budget.

At commencement, Rowan also will recognize Shaun T, creator of the "Insanity" andRead More "Hip Hop Abs" Let me guess - the "Girls Gone Wild" creator had a prior commitment?
Kristi Simpkins April 29, 2013 at 01:08 am
Schu, Do you know what's an even a bigger low? This thread. Where some people are actually attackingRead More him. For something that will still be done by him. Some people I guess just have to moan, groan & complain. It's really sad.
Kristi Simpkins April 29, 2013 at 01:13 am
Jeremiah, Let me guess. Green is not your favorite color. BTW Shawn graduated from Rowan back inRead More 2001.

Would it be possible to use the $780,000.00 surplus that Mr. Thompson said we had 2 months ago forRead More any of these repairs ? Seems now would be a good time to tap into to it.

How far down in the sand do ostriches have to stick their head before they find they areRead More suffocating? Continuing to ignore the fact that our debt and interest is $200 million defies logic.Who created the debt? It wasn't Ray Cintall or Sam Cianfarini. How many court cases do we need to lose and how much more should be paid in legal fees? The only people benefitting from the litigation were the Democrat party and the attorneys. If this problem had been addressed by the previous administration we wouldn't have been in such debt. Perhaps by creating such an unfriendly business climate in the town, they killed the goose that laid the golden egg. People need to wake up.. To support Ernest Kraus's claim, Trulia under foreclosure.com West Deptford has 186 properties listed out of which 69 are in foreclosure, pre-foreclosure or bankruptcy. Where was the outrage when our taxes kept increasing under the Democrats who had total and complete control? While the taxes kept increasing under their administrations, home prices from 2007 to 2011 depreciated 29% according to the Inquirer article of 10/22/12 by staff writer Anthony Wood. People need a reality check. The state of NJ ranks 48 out of 50 for freedom because it is so overtaxed and over-regulated. In addition, consider the fact that according to the Wall Street Journal state and local governments owe 7.3 trillion in promises they made that were never approved by taxpayers. Therefore, the loss of tax ratables is not the only issue.

Years ago, rumor had it, that AC units were removed from 1 WD facility and placed in one of theRead More schools. Is this the building you are referring to Mr. Kitchenman? Does are taxes pay for previous Mayors and legal counsel, that were in the top 100 in the country, pensions, some of which are double and triple dipping?
Occupant May 27, 2013 at 01:37 pm
For once I have nothing to add ... Ernest and Madeline have said it all so eloquently. Good job.

Hi Wen (aka Mrs. Rooney), I have always known what a dedicated & fun teacher you are - but it isRead More great to see it in print! Your students and their families are so very lucky to have such a diligent teacher - we would love to have you in my PA school district. Keep up the hard work. El

We congratulate the teachers at West Depford for their hard work to produce such excellent studentsRead More like Jarah Barquero keep it up Jarah. Thank you.

we the residents get hit with a tax hike whether we like it or not. taxes keep going up and incomeRead More keeps going down. What a country we live in. no wonder there are so many houses on the market in this township. I feel sorry for the residents that are on fixed incomes, especially the senior cotizens.BOE should cut some programs to offset the costs and alleviate the tax increase.keep voting the same people to the BOE!!!
Thomas J. Nocella March 7, 2013 at 12:57 am
I believe I recently read on the Patch that the $9.90 was double what the tax was previously so howRead More is it a tax decrease. Yes a decrease from the original proposal but truly not a decrease to anyone.
Thomas J. Nocella March 9, 2013 at 03:56 pm
Didn't even know there was a field house for baseball. They should set aside certain days that WDRead More youth TEAMS can be allowed in there. I emphazise Teams because it would be non productive to have just a dad and son show up. The times and dates should also be from 4:00pm to 9 or 10:00pm. Limit outside use, non residents at a fee, say for 4 days a week, 2 week days and either a Sat. or Sunday. Now let's talk about softball for the girls. When do they use it? Set aside days for local teams to utilize as well as reserving dates and times for outside trainers to teach Girls softball. Girls and women also pay taxes in WD and they should have their fair shake at getting better.
Thomas J. Nocella March 9, 2013 at 04:02 pm
Dan, I hope the training facility is open for Girls Softball. I remember when I coached SoftballRead More there was an issue with getting into the batting cages. Finally assignments were made for certain teams at a certain time.
Thomas J. Nocella March 9, 2013 at 04:07 pm
Then since he was not in attendance, the topic should have been dismissed and or delayed until heRead More was present. And by present I mean by the next scheduled meeting. If he doesn't show at the next scheduled meeting, the topic of discussion is over and everyone moves on.
WD Resident February 25, 2013 at 02:42 am
Everyone you talk to wants out of this township, it just cost to much to live here anymore. Why doesRead More the school system need so much money. I'm sorry but I happen to think teachers are over paid, they need to get back to basics. I don't want to hear there teaching my kids, as soon as a kid blinks wrong they want to put them in alternative school because they can't handle it. They should have taught in the 1960's when there was 35 to 40 kids to a class room.
Fed UP February 25, 2013 at 03:35 am
you people keep voting the same ones in. gonna tax us right out of our homes. I don't have kids thatRead More go to that school now it's been a while and we get hit with the increase. the last regime left this town in dire need of new firetrucks new pumps for the pumphouses school repairs poor drainage areas all they care about is getting the weeds pulled at riverwinds and field of dreams painted. you want extra cash for the schools why don't you teachers and administration higher ups take pay cuts and beside 9 cents is over the cap
Taxed To Death February 25, 2013 at 01:21 pm
I've never had kids and I'm being killed by these taxes. This next tax increase will force me toRead More sell my house and get an apartment. It's the only way I can keep a roof over my head.
