Ever wondered what Starry Night would look like if Vincent van Gogh had painted it in modern times? For some West Deptford elementary students, their renditions of the artist's most famous work will be one of the many exhibits featured in the West Deptford Free Public Library. Between elementary art teachers Gina Hicks and Kate Mathiesen, roughly 400 elementary students are featured in this year’s exhibit for Youth Art Month. As many towns begin to celebrate Black History Month, commemoration at Gloucester County College (GCC) is well underway with a new art gallery highlighting works from distinguished African American artists. Sponsored by the South Jersey Chapter of LINKS, Inc.—an international nonprofit organization dedicated to volunteer service—the exhibit features an array of talents from prominent African American artists from New Jersey and the surrounding regions.
