West Deptford Boys' Basketball Falls to Haddon Heights In Season Opener

The Eagles score just 12 points in the first half as the team works to gel on offense.

Some nights, the shots just don't fall. West Deptford made just two baskets in the first quarter, and was held to 26 points through three, as the Eagles fell to visiting Haddon Heights, 73-43, in the season opener Friday for the two Colonial Conference Liberty Division teams. "We just missed a lot of shots," said West Deptford head coach Don Clark. "That game could've been a 24-18 game (at the half) with a couple of those easy shots that we missed." Haddon Heights pressed on defense from the outset, and didn't stop until the game was put away in the fourth quarter, as they tried to force West Deptford to run with them–something the Eagles couldn't do with any consistency.
