Thorofare Wawa Hiring for New Expansion

With the soon-to-be operational gas station comes some new job openings for the Crown Point Road Wawa.

Soon to be up and ready for business, the new expansion to the Wawa on Crown Point Road will bring some much needed fuel service—and jobs—to the area. Located at 196 Crown Point Rd. in Thorofare, the Wawa is currently looking for applicants both in customer service and fuel service. Customer service assistants are responsible for operations such as manning the cash register, coffee bar, ovens and food service. Fuel service workers will work primarily with the pumps and related operations.  Prospective employees may apply for either position online. NJDOT Reschedules Drawbridge Repairs Slated to Close Down Part of Route 44 for Weekend

NJDOT announces a series of weekend closures for Crown Point Rd, in order to repair drawbridge over Mantua Creek in Paulsboro, after rescheduling from December.

Motorists traveling this weekend may have to make alternative plans, if traveling down Crown Point Road due to bridge construction in a neighboring town.   Starting at 4 a.m. on  Saturday, Jan. 12, the Crown Point Road (Route 44) drawbridge over Mantua Creek in Paulsboro will be closed to all motorists. Drawbridge repairs that were originally slated to begin the first of December, were pushed back, due to a train derailment spill  in Paulsboro that released vinyl chloride fumes out into the air. The derailment happened one day before the repairs were scheduled to occur further down the creek. Perhaps the department of DOT should have looked up the Mantua creek a little to the west and checked out the condition of the railroad bridge before plans were set up for the draw bridge construction project saving alot of safety and EPA issues   more ›

Storm Shuts Down Two Roads in West Deptford

Two roads closed down in West Deptford, one after flooding and the other from a downed utility pole.

Update, 1 p.m. 12/21/12: The Brooklawn Circle is closed due to flooding. Traffic is being detoured.  ____________________ Two roads in West Deptford are closed Friday morning after a storm blew through late last night into early morning.  According to police Chief Craig Mangano, Crown Point Road is closed in between Mid-Atlantic Parkway and Mantua Grove Road due to significant flooding—an area that is prone to washouts. In addition, a part of Kings Highway is also shut down in between Jessup Road and Parkville-Station Road, due to a downed utility pole. PSEG is currently on site working on the downed pole.
