Pairing philanthropy with its burgers, Red Robin officially opens for business.
Red Robin is ... here! After its long-awaited arrival, Red Robin celebrated its grand opening in the Deptford Mall on Monday. With doors open at 11 a.m., customers steadily poured into Red Robin to get their early afternoon grub on. After pep talk from Liz Scott, co-executive director of Alex’s Lemonade Stand and mother of the organization’s namesake Alexandra Scott, the Red Robin team dispersed to their designated stations to prepare for their first day of service. Scott stayed around and helped with operations at Red Robin, whose sales of Freckled Lemonade benefitted Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The restaurant chain recently embarked on a fundraising effort with Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and the Deptford opening was the second Red Robin grand …

The Colorado-based gourmet burger chain's Deptford Mall location will be its first in the area.
You'll have to suffer through holiday shopping at the Deptford Mall without Red Robin. The casual, gourmet-burger chain's location on the mall’s upper level, near Boscov’s, and next to the Gloucester County store, is set to open in early 2013. Red Robin initially announced in July the restaurant would open this fall. But, the opening date has been pushed back as construction continues on the 210-seat eatery. Red Robin's arrival in the area is good news for South Jersey fans of the chain’s “bottomless fries” and of its more than 15 styles of burgers. The restaurant chain’s only other current South Jersey location is on the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing, near the Hamilton Mall—about 35 miles from Deptford. The chain's arrival also is …

The Colorado-based burger chain is opening a location at the mall this fall.
Beyond the food court, it’s been ages since any national restaurant chain set up shop at Deptford Mall in Deptford. That’s about to change. Red Robin, the casual, gourmet-burger chain, will open a location at the mall this fall, according to the company. The 210-seat restaurant will operate on the mall’s upper level, near Boscov’s, and next to the Gloucester County store. This is good news for South Jersey fans of the chain’s “bottomless fries” and of its more than 15 styles of burgers. The restaurant chain’s only other current South Jersey location is on the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing, near the Hamilton Mall—about 35 miles from Deptford. Red Robin’s arrival also is good news for Deptford Mall shoppers, who will now have another …

German admitted to pepper-spraying a store loss prevention officer as she tried to flee with more than $600 in merchandise last year.
A Bridgeton woman who pepper-sprayed a store security officer as she attempted to shoplift more than $600 worth of clothing from a Deptford Mall store last August pleaded guilty to theft Tuesday, and now faces a year in state prison. Reethel German, 23, was charged by Deptford police with stealing $648 worth of clothes from Abercrombie & Fitch on Aug. 18, 2011. She allegedly came prepared, bringing a pair of wire cutters to remove security tags, and hid the clothing in her handbag before getting into a scuffle with the store’s loss prevention officer. German had several previous shoplifting arrests, mostly in Vineland and Millville, according to previously-published media reports. She was nicked in an alleged $5,000 shoplifting spree in …
