Viewfinder: Middle Schoolers Rock Annual Winter Concert

The school's sixth-grade choir and seventh- and eighth-grade band performed for family and friends on Wednesday night.

Students from West Deptford Middle School's music program performed in the school's 42nd annual Winter Concert on Wednesday night. Family and friends gather to hear the seventh- and eighth-grade band perform a few different musical numbers, such as "Winter Suprise" by Sigvald Norman and "Holiday Sleigh Ride" by Peter Sivanich. The sixth-grade choir also performed in the show, signing four songs that included "Ching-A-Ring-Chaw" by Aaron Copland and "Chocolate" by Kirby Shaw. Band director Robert Greene, choir director Steve Kappre and school principal Michael Fanelli all thanked the audience at the end for their support of the kids and the music program. WD Middle School Choir to Rock Rowan Holiday Concert

Performing alongside country music star Louise Mandrell, the West Deptford choir will join Rowan's singers and wind ensemble for a holiday concert.

What better way to usher in the holidays than sharing the stage with a country music star? That's exactly how the West Deptford Middle School choir will mark the beginning of December. Making the journey over to Glassboro, the choir will join a full bill of talented singers and musicians for Rowan University’s annual holiday concert. Along with middle school choir, "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year: A Holiday Concert," will feature the Rowan concert choir, Rowan wind ensemble, tenor Jon Garrison and country music star Louise Mandrell.
