Former Twp. Official Innocent on Lewdness Charge, Judge Finds

Scott Kintzing, the former West Deptford Planning Board chairman, was accused of lewdness in connection with an October 2012 incident at Oakview Elementary School.

A municipal court judge on Wednesday found former West Deptford Planning Board Chairman Scott Kintzing not guilty of lewdness. The verdict ended an embarrassing chapter in the well-known community member's life.  Kintzing was accused of exposing his buttocks to a female custodian outside Oakview Elementary School on the night of  October 23, 2012, as he changed out of his gym clothes following a men's basketball league game inside the school's gymnasium. The incident was captured by a school security camera.  Following a two-hour, non-jury trial, Maurice River Township Municipal Court Judge John A. Casarow Jr. found that the prosecution failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Kintzing's actions were intended to be lewd.  "I do not …

Public nudity & being arrogant is not right. Nor should it be acceptable or justified in any way. He was not alone & acted as if he was. …   more ›

Kintzing Hearing Date Pushed Back, Yet Again

Maurice River Township municipal court's judge calls for a special session to hear the lewdness case in its entirety.

After several postponements, former West Deptford Planning Board Chairman Scott Kintzing is still without a resolution to a lewdness charge against him. Kintzing appeared Tuesday night in Maurice River Township municipal court. Judge John A. Casarow Jr. ordered the case heard in a special session to allot enough time for each side to present its case.  After a brief conference with Kintzing’s attorney Jeffery V. Puff of Woodbury, Prosecutor Edward Duffy and Casarow—resulting in a court break—Casarow stated a special session is needed due to the brief nature of Tuesday night’s court session. The judge said he would give “as much latitude as permissible” to both sides during the special session. No future date was announced immediately; …

West Deptford Official Charged with Lewdness

Scott Kintzing, chairman of the township Planning Board, was allegedly naked when a female custodian confronted him outside Oakview Elementary School.

The chairman of the township Planning Board has been charged with lewdness for allegedly stripping naked outside a local school after taking part in a basketball game.  Scott Kintzing, 59, was served with a summons on Nov. 12, said West Deptford Police Chief Craig Mangano.  The incident happened about 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 outside Oakview Elementary School, Mangano said Monday. It was captured on security footage of school grounds. A female school custodian witnessed Kintzing changing his clothes outside the back of the school after the game.
