It's official: With President Barack Obama's acceptance speech in Charlotte Thursday night, both the Republicans and Democrats have formally chosen their nominees for the 2012 presidential election. Let the real race begin. A lot can change between now and Nov. 6: Gaffes, scandals or even major international news events could shift the dynamics of the campaign. The latest Gallup Polls show registered voters prefer Obama to Mitt Romney by the slimmest of margins, 47 percent to 46 percent. A USA Today/Gallup poll taken just before the party conventions found American voters think Obama is more likeable, but trust Romney more to handle the economy. Party faithful say the governor hit all the right marks in his prime-time address to the nation.
In a speech that was both biographical and also touched upon Republicans' vision for the country, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie Tuesday was in the limelight Tuesday as he delivered a nationally televised keynote address at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. And state delegates in the St. Pete Times Forum who listened to his speech said the governor struck just the right tone in making his case for presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Delegates from across New Jersey who are representing the Garden State at the Republican National Convention share their thoughts on what they hope the rest of the country will learn from Gov. Chris Christie's keynote speech.

Gov. Chris Christie will have the nation’s attention this evening as he delivers the keynote address at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, FL. Network coverage of the Republican National Convention begins at 10 p.m. tonight. Christie is scheduled to speak at 10:30 p.m. The speech will be carried live across the national networks—ABC, CBS, NBC—plus on CNN, Fox News, PBS and NJTV. While Christie hasn’t released an advance copy of the speech, he left clues during a long morning of talk show interviews.
