No Call Yet On RiverWinds Solar Canopy System

A final call on whether to allow developer Ray Angelini, Inc. to build and maintain a solar farm at RiverWinds won't come until at least next month.

A decision on the proposed solar canopy system at RiverWinds has been shelved at least until March, after developer Ray Angelini, Inc. (RAI) delivered more detailed plans only hours before the West Deptford township committee was slated to discuss the project Thursday night. Sean Angelini, the solar division manager for the company, said communication broke down when former township engineers T&M Associates gave way to the Alaimo Group in January, leading to the delay. “T&M Associates wouldn’t even return our phone calls,” he said. “There was a disconnect there.” The project actually has conditional approval dating back to December, but those detailed plans are the hinge point. I did not like the look of the renderings. I don't know why, but I feel unsafe, walking alone in enclosures such as these, particularly at night. Public Hears RiverWinds Solar Proposal

After two closed-session meeting with the West Deptford township committee, developer Ray Angelini, Inc. showed residents their proposal for solar canopies at RiverWinds.

And as with the township committee, residents had plenty of questions, on everything from aesthetics to health concerns to maintenance to what kind of risk the township would be taking with the project. Joe Joyce, senior vice president for sales and marketing with Ray Angelini, Inc. (RAI), the proposed developer for the solar project, gave an extensive presentation on the plan, with an emphasis on the costs and savings potential for West …

West Deptford Committee Sets Special Meetings

The governing body will meet twice more before the end of the year.

A successor to former mayor Anna Docimo and a public presentation on the proposed solar project at RiverWinds are on the table for a special meeting of the West Deptford committee Wednesday night. The 7 p.m. special meeting will see the four remaining committee members consider three candidates put forth by the Democratic executive committee, with the option of choosing one of them to fill the open seat. If the current township committee can't settle on one candidate immediately, they have 30 days from Docimo's retirement–officially Dec. 8–to make a final call, according to state statute. Otherwise, the choice would go back to the Democratic executive committee. On top of that, developer Ray Angelini, Inc. will detail its proposal for its …
