MedExpress Urgent Care, a chain of clinical care facilities, held a pre-opening event at its new location on Route 45 in the Southwood Shopping Center, in a building formerly occupied by Hollywood Video. Sitting snug between Weight Watchers and Hair Connection is a large vacant lot, one of four in the Southwood Shopping Center. While the plaza is acquiring new business, such as MedExpress which will soon take the place of the former Hollywood Video, this particular building has been vacant for about two years after its former resident—Duffy’s Delicious Candies—relocated to the CVS Plaza on Mantua Pike. Moving into the former Hollywood Video, the new urgent care facility will open its doors soon in West Deptford.
In less than a month, locals who are in need of medical assistance will soon have an alternative to those long trips to the ER. According to MedExpress Senior Vice President of Operations Dean Hatcher, the new location will celebrate its soft opening on Tuesday, Feb. 26—opening for patients the following day. “We’re really excited to be in New Jersey,” says Hatcher, whose company recently opened a center in Cinnaminson with another soon opening in Willingboro. After renovations are complete, the center will open in the former Hollywood Video, located in the Southwood Shopping Center. Moving into the former Hollywood Video, the new clinic will serve as a walk-in urgent care facility.
With a little renovation, the Southwood Shopping Center in West Deptford will soon have a new addition. The long-vacant building that once housed Hollywood Video is soon to become a new urgent care medical facility. MedExpress—which has one existing location in Cinnaminson—will soon have three New Jersey locations in total, with plans to open a new facility in Willingboro as well. The new MedExpress Urgent Care location will bring provide a full-service, walk-in clinic open every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a physician on site at all times. The Woodbury Heights resident is accused of two burglaries in West Deptford in August and September.
A Woodbury Heights man who allegedly committed two recent smash-and-grab burglaries was nabbed after a West Deptford police officer spotted him fleeing the scene of the crime last week, West Deptford police Chief Craig Mangano announced Monday. Jeffery A. Jenis, 41, was speeding out of the Southwood Shopping Center in a silver Saab in the overnight hours on Sept. 12, when West Deptford Ptl. James Grant spotted him, Mangano said. As Grant drove through the parking lot of the shopping center, he heard an audible alarm coming from Prime Time Rentals, and tailed Jenis into the Greenfields section of the township, where Grant stopped him on Holly Drive, Magano said.
