Community Gathers for Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

With the lighting of the library tree, West Deptford officially ushers in the Christmas season.

Even the bizarre weather can’t stop West Deptford from celebrating the holidays. Residents braved the blustery conditions, Thursday night, for the township’s annual tree lighting ceremony and to pay respects to the West Deptford Library’s “Lights of Love” memorial. Various officials were on hand to partake in the ceremony, which began indoors. Among them, Mayor Raymond Chintall stepped up to say a few words to the residents. Chintall wished the residents of West Deptford a happy holiday, and reminded them to reflect on those less fortunate this holiday season. “Keep in mind of what's going on in our neighboring towns; pray for them,” said Chintall. Woodbury Christmas Parade Ushers in the Holiday Season

Lots of holiday fun is going on this Saturday, Dec. 8 in downtown Woodbury.

Santa Claus is coming to town? You can absolutely bet on it. Sponsored by the Woodbury Merchants Association, Main Street Woodbury and the Greater Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, the Woodbury Christmas Parade kicks off at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. Beginning at the CVS Plaza, the parade runs down Broad Street into downtown Woodbury. At the same time, Santa will also be on hand at The Chocolatier to lead the children down to Woodbury City Hall for the tree lighting ceremony. Tree Lighting Ceremony Rings In Holidays for West Deptford

West Deptford is ready to welcome the holidays with the annual tree lighting ceremony and "Lights of Love."

Ready or not, Dec. 25 is on its way. With the holidays soon approaching, West Deptford will kick off the festivities with its annual tree lighting ceremony—and a special memorial for those who have left us. The annual tree lighting ceremony takes place in front of the West Deptford Public Library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6. and is expected to last for two hours. Township officials and president of the library board of trustees April Maska will be on hand to welcome the crowd.
