The Former Curves: What Should Go Here?

What do you think should occupy this empty lot in the CVS Plaza?

Sitting opposite of the West Deptford Shoprite Plaza, the CVS Plaza houses an array of stores such as Kids Kuts, West Deptford Eye Care and Perfect Press Cleaners. While many businesses are longtime occupants of this plaza, Curves was not. Located at the far end of the plaza, this one-time fitness center is now a vacant lot.   This latest edition of “Visions for Vacancies” asks the readers of West Deptford Patch to share their ideas for what business should move into this empty building located in The CVS Plaza at 1107 Mantua Pike in West Deptford. What do you think? A new fitness center? A sandwich shop? A day spa? What places are you dying to have close by? Tell us your idea for the currently vacant lot. Please keep in mind all the …

Visions for Vacancies: The Former Duffy's Delicious Candies

In the two years since Duffy's Delicious Candies moved out, no other business moved in. Your thoughts?

Sitting snug between Weight Watchers and Hair Connection is a large vacant lot, one of four in the Southwood Shopping Center. While the plaza is acquiring new business, such as MedExpress which will soon take the place of the former Hollywood Video, this particular building has been vacant for about two years after its former resident—Duffy’s Delicious Candies—relocated to the CVS Plaza on Mantua Pike. This latest edition of “Visions for Vacancies” asks the readers of West Deptford Patch to share their ideas for what business should move into this empty building located in The Southwood Shopping Center at 875 Mantua Pike in West Deptford. What do you think? A coffee shop? A bakery? A pet store? A new restaurant? Tell us your idea for the …

Raysam, you need to stop acting like you are in 3rd Grade. Def. a coffee shop/good bakery would be great for the area, it is much needed. William Docherty, businesses are closing down everywhere, ever read the news?? I've noticed quite a few businesses moving into WD, that is great leadership by Chintall and Cianfarini!   more ›

Visions for Vacancies: The Former Bradlees

Now only a portion of the former Bradlees, this empty lot has been vacant since the store's closure. What should fill this empty spot?

Currently a half of the former Bradlees, this vacant building sits nestled in between retail giants such as Joe Canal’s and Big Lots in a plaza that also houses the Shoprite of West Deptford. After Bradlees closed down, the building was on the market for years until it split into two different buildings—the larger building now currently Big Lots. The smaller building still sits vacant in an otherwise full and, at times, frantic plaza. This latest edition of Visions for Vacancies asks the readers of West Deptford Patch to share their ideas for what business should move into this empty building located at 1077 Mantua Pike, West Deptford. What do you think? A pet store? A fast food restaurant? An electronics store? A book store? Tell us your …

Plans to turn the dollar store into a business co-op never materialized, and now the building is for sale.  What are you dying to see in this downtown location? An upscale restaurant? A funky furniture shop? Another variety store?  Share your vision for this vacancy in the Comments section below.

Samantha, that's a great idea. Not sure that's the ideal location for a chain, though.   more ›

Visions for Vacancies: What Should Fill This Empty Storefront?

West Deptford and Woodbury have empty storefronts. You have ideas. Let's hear what you want to see added to West Deptford and Woodbury's business communities.

Welcome to West Deptford Patch's new feature, Visions for Vacancies. West Deptford and Woodbury have several empty storefronts and we want to know what residents want to see there. First up, 164 S. Broad St. in Woodbury. This building is at a prominent location in the city's downtown. For many years, it was home to Polsky's Army & Navy Store, but it's been vacant for more than three years. The second floor of the 9,950 square-foot building is divided into apartments. Plans to open a laundromat on the ground floor were a wash, and now the building is for sale.  What are you dying to see in this location? A bagel shop? A specialty clothing store? A restaurant?  Share your vision for this vacancy in the Comments section below.
