Enrollment Open for GCC Health Information Technology Program

Applicants have until Feb.8 to register for this free professional development program.

The Gloucester County College Division of Continuing Education—located on Tanyard Road in Deptford—will accept applications until Feb. 8 for the grant-funded Health Information Technology Program. Some rolling applications will be accepted. Slated to begin on Feb. 18, this free professional development certificate program aims to provide training in Health Information Technology consulting and engineering. GCC Hosting Veterans Day Ceremony

The ceremony held by Gloucester County and GCC Student Veteran Organization gives veterans an opportunity to share their stories of conflict.

With the passing of the presidential election, Nov. 11 is soon approaching and with it, Americans honor Veterans Day. Falling on a Sunday this year, Veterans Day will be observed Monday, Nov. 12, and in coordination, Gloucester County College (GCC) will hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony.  The event will feature veterans sharing their stories and experiences from their military service. Veterans from past wars, such as WWII, the Korean War, the Gulf War and Vietnam will be present, as well as those from more recent wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan.    Starting at 10 a.m., the ceremony will be open to the public and held in the Eugene McCaffery College Center at GCC on Tanyard Road in Sewell.  The ceremony will be hosted by Gloucester …

GCC Offering Resume, Interviewing Sessions

Job-seekers can get help at a pair of sessions this week and next week at the county college.

Resume looking a little dusty? Looking for a job, but need to work on how to conduct yourself in an interview? Gloucester County College can offer you some help, with a two-part workshop offered on Wednesday, June 15 and June 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Career and Academic Planning (CAP) Center. The sessions are free and open to the public. The June 15 workshop will concentrate on resumes and cover letters, followed by the June 22 session focused on effective interviewing skills and dressing for success. Upcoming GCC Events Span Artwork to Edibles

Gloucester County College's Community Garden project is ready to kick off. The college also is soliciting art show entries from seniors.

Gloucester County College (GCC) has upcoming offerings for senior citizen artists and fresh produce lovers of all ages at its Deptford campus. GCC is launching its 2011 Community Gardens project on March 21. A meeting that evening at 7:30 p.m. in the college library’s Community Room will serve as an organizational gathering for the project. The Community Gardens project began 38 years ago as a way for county residents to garden and grow fresh produce on GCC land. Garden plots are available for use from late March through Thanksgiving, and renters can grow flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables to their hearts’ content. Gardeners have rich soil to work with, as GCC’s 250-acre campus was built on some of Deptford’s most fertile land. …
