West Deptford Girls’ Basketball Lays Lindenwold Low

The Eagles only allowed 17 points in a runaway win Tuesday night.

One thing’s for sure: When the bus left West Deptford High School Tuesday night for the trip up to Lindenwold, the girls’ basketball team made sure to pack the lockdown defense.

The Eagles dominated the defensive end against the Lions, allowing just seven second-half points in a 37-17 win.

Lindenwold opened the game with its strongest effort, as West Deptford posted an 11-7 lead after the first quarter, but the Lions turned into lambs in short order.

West Deptford widened the lead to 19-10 at the half, then put the game away shortly after halftime.

Tarryn Bundy, who had 12 points, was West Deptford’s leading scorer, as seven different players contributed on offense.

On the other side of the ledger, Alexsandria Matthews, who accounted for 12 of the Lions’ 17 points, was the lone bright spot for Lindenwold.
