 These
are questions that Delaware Riverkeeper Network would like to ask residents of
the West Deptford, Thorofare, Paulsboro, Gibbstown and riverside Gloucester County
area. We are engaged in an effort to gather information about the potential
contamination of drinking water in this region by perfluorinated chemicals that
were used for many years at the Solvay plant.
We are also interested in community concerns regarding drinking water
pollution and personal experiences of those who live or work here.

 We
recently found out that one of the perfluorinated chemicals, PFNA, was found in
very high levels in one of Paulsboro’s water wells.  The water system is not designed to remove
this chemical from the drinking water.  PFNA
has known harmful human health effects.  Delaware
Riverkeeper Network (DRN) has petitioned a federal agency to investigate this
dangerous situation because of the lack of positive action on the part of New
Jersey government.  We need input from
you to provide critical information to the investigators.

 Delaware
Riverkeeper Network staff will be at the West Deptford Library on October 30th
for two hours (6:30 pm to 8:30 pm) to interview those who want to help us
gather much needed information about the effects of this longstanding pollution
in this region.

Personal
interviews will be conducted and can be done anonymously if requested.

Please
come over to the Library to help us learn more about your experiences and
thoughts.  If you do not feel comfortable
coming to the Library, please contact: tracy@delawareriverkeeper.org
