Makeshift Memorial for Slain Woodbury Gas-Station Attendant

Surinder Singh was a friendly face to many who patronized his service station, and several of those regulars and loved ones paid their respects with flowers and tokens.

Friends remembered Surinder Singh on Monday with a memorial of flowers, teddy bears and other mementos in front of the office of the Woodbury gas station where he was fatally shot less than a day earlier.

Singh, 40, a Woodbury resident, was slain during an apparent robbery attempt Sunday night at Garden State Fuel, the gas station he co-owned on North Broad Street, next to Colonial Diner.

Earlier Monday, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office released a police sketch of one of the two suspects in the case and announced a $5,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the killing.
