Memorial, Reward Funds Opened for Woodbury Gas Station Shooting Victim

You can help support Surinder Singh's widow and their two young children or chip in something to help bring his killers to justice at the TD Bank in Woodbury.

On Thursday, Singh's brother opened a bank account to receive contributions for them, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.

Those who want to help support the family may donate to the “Memorial Account for Surinder Pal Singh” at the TD Bank in Woodbury (490 Mantua Ave.).

According to the Prosecutor's Office, contributions should be sent to that branch and checks written to the account name and number (#4281207203).

Likewise, a separate account (#4281207211) was established at the same bank branch, the Prosecutor's Office said, "for those who wish to contribute to a reward for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for murdering Mr. Singh."

The reward for information leading to the capture of Singh's murderers already stands at $8,000 thanks to contributions from the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Woodbury Police Department.

Authorities believe two people attempted to rob Singh at the Garden State Fuel station on North Broad St. and then fled the scene heading north in a gray sedan.
Singh died about 30 minutes after the incident from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office is also offering assistance for funeral expenses and other costs to Singh's surviving family, which will hold his funeral Saturday at the Sikh temple in Deptford Township.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det. Greg Malesich of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office at (856) 384-5626 or Det. Tom Ryan of the Woodbury Police Department at (856) 845-0065.
